Winter Commute Score

How the score works

It's a weighted checklist, not a forecast. It never looks at real roads, outages or weather: every point comes from your own answers.

What each question is worth

The best answer earns all of a question's points. Other answers earn part of them.

The 5 types

ScoreType
90-100The Whiteout Navigator
Detour mapped, tank above half, blanket in the back. A storm day is just a slower Tuesday for you.
75-89The Snowbelt Veteran
You've done this before and it shows. One or two small fixes and you're the one handing out jump starts.
55-74The Steady Hand
The basics are covered and you don't rattle. Close a couple of soft spots and the storm gets boring.
35-54The Quick Study
You've got the instincts and some of the gear. Your fix list is short, cheap and quick to tick off.
0-34The Trailbreaker
You're breaking fresh snow here, so every item on your list is a big jump for very little money.

Your fix list

Every answer short of the best adds the items that close the gap. Each item shows the points it wins back, and together they add up to what you're missing. Better answers never lower your score.
